Mt. Juliet is recognized as a top family-friendly community with a low crime rate, high-achieving schools, and convenient access to Nashville. Mt. Juliet is notably one of the fastest-growing Middle Tennessee suburbs during the last 20 years. Between 2000 and 2010, the area experienced a 98% population increase. It has consistently ranked among the state’s top 10 fastest-growing cities and is often labeled as a “boomtown” by real estate groups.
Mt. Juliet is uniquely located between two of the area’s top recreational lakes: J. Percy Priest Lake, located south of the city, and Old Hickory Lake to the north. Access to these reservoirs offers residents opportunities for boating, fishing, and a wide range of outdoor recreation. In fact, Mt. Juliet’s official slogan is: “The City Between the Lakes.” Additionally, residents have a short drive to both Long Hunter State Park and Cedars of Lebanon State Park.
The city is situated along the I-40 corridor, making travel west to Nashville convenient while also providing easy access to I-65, I-24, and I-840. Mt. Juliet is known as a hub for retail. Located off I-40, Providence Marketplace is a 104-acre open-air shopping complex. Here, you’ll find over 50 shops, major retail anchors, grocery stores, restaurants, and a movie theater.
Youth and adult sports are available through the Mt. Juliet Parks and Recreation. (mtjuliet-tn.gov/174/Youth-Sports-Organizations) Several independent sports associations manage league play.
