Thompson’s Station boasts more than 300 acres of parks, leading the county in preserving open spaces. The town was founded in 1780. In 1855 the first trains arrived, making it a shipping center for area farmers to transport sheep, hogs, and cattle. Thompson’s Station became established as a town in 1990.
Youth and adult sports are provided by South Williamson Athletics, (swatn.org) along with Williamson County Parks and Recreation.(wcparksandrec.com) Team play includes baseball, basketball, softball, and volleyball. Williamson County Soccer Association (williamsoncountysoccer.com) offers indoor and outdoor soccer for ages 5 to 19.

Alexander Trail and Stephen’s Way connect Sarah Benson Park to Heritage Park and is a bike friendly trek.
